I was promoted to a first-time manager in HR division more than 10 years back. It has positively disrupted my life and career as I was so used to be an individual contributor where I was the subject matter expert to achieve peak performance for the organization. The only person I need to be accountable for was my line manager. Back then, when I was given a group of 8 team members to manage, I was totally at a loss. However, my line manager trusted me and believe in me that I can surpassed all these challenges in the leadership journey.

My Line manager prepared me by investing an external Coach for the disruption I was facing. I had no idea what a Coach would do and what was the difference between a Coach and a Mentor. ‘Coach’ was a brand-new terminology for me at that time. Later on, I then realized a Coach will ask you questions which will move you forward in the conversation without giving you any form of advice while Mentor is someone who has the extensive experience or the subject expert who can advise you on which route to take when you face challenges.

The leadership coaching journey has impacted my career significantly in a positive manner. It has taught me the power of proper delegation, developing my team members vertically and horizontally, how to give constructive feedback to co-workers without feeling guilty which then produced positive change in them. Regular coaching and feedback will provide support to the employee and rectify performance issues before they become significant.

Coaching has changed my career and personal life and it has now become part of my daily life.

I thought coaching is just an interim to help me become a better first-time manager but I didn’t know it will take me this far in my career. It is my vision to see leaders in organizations coach, train, and develop employees to reach the next level of their career and even personal life.

Hence, I believe, every talent needs a coach.

I have become a better version of myself through coaching others and being coached.

Testimonial from HR Leaders and Business Leaders

“Sharon is a dynamic human resources professional who is always filled with zest and Ideas to empower her people.
She coached me to think on my feet to propose my own solutions to overcome my barriers. After the coaching session with Sharon, I successfully pulled off an impressive human resources presentation to senior executives during a Global Management Meeting. She has all It takes to develop and retain top talent through coaching.”

Global Talent Management/Regional HR Manager (IHRP-SP)

“I first met Sharon 1 year prior to joining World Courier when I was considering a different role, she was (and still is!) a very positive and compassionate person and was one of the main influencers in bringing me to World Courier initially as the Managing Director of Singapore where we partnered on several successful projects related to people and culture.

Sharon always demonstrates great leadership for the APAC region and has always been a reliable and collaborative business partner to the countries that I have been leading in the Southeast Asia and India sub-region. She is always on hand to offer support in the role of a coach & mentor and inspired me to join the APAC mentoring program to become a Mentor for the next generation of leaders.

Sharon has a passion for people & will always strive for the best and fairest outcome for everyone. It’s been my absolute pleasure to work alongside Sharon in my time with World Courier and she will always be an asset to any company that has the good fortune of working with her.”

Sub-Regional Director, South East Asia & India

“Through Sharon’s coaching I was able to open areas of life that I never knew existed. When we started, I couldn’t even manage my work, let alone and unable to find time for myself and my family. The sessions with Sharon enabled me to see pockets where I can slot in time for my self care and hobbies. I also developed more confidence to explore greater challenges and responsibilities in my work place.

Through her lense I am able to see growth in all areas of my life which seemed to be stuck. The level that we achieved together in 8 sessions (a span of 4 months) is still unbelievable. When you feel stuck and don’t seem to know how to pivot your career or personal life, Sharon can oil the gears so you can restart moving and be hopeful again to the future.

Sharon is a great personal and professional coach.”
